St. Mary’s Park is home to a baseball and softball field used by the people of New York City on daily basis, including the Mott Haven Community High School softball team. The Mott Haven softball teams 2016 season, their first as a high school, ended with a playoff run and their first ever playoff game. The season was a great success and the returning players are incredibly excited for next season. We are hoping to improve the field that these kids will be playing on and continue to build the game in the inner city. Beautifying a park in the inner city not only helps those who play on it but the whole community as well!
The main upgrade needed for both fields is the leveling of both the infield and the outfield. The fields are very uneven. Aside from the uneven surface, the field needs an overall makeover. The fences and backstop have holes, the benches are old and the grass is very patchy. Every little bit helps us begin to revitalize this park in the South Bronx!
This campaign is just $148 shy of reaching its goal. Please consider helping this softball field in the South Bronx by making a small donation to show your support here: https://fixafield.com/location/165
We thank all donors who have come together to help on this project and for your continued support of FixAField and our mission.
